We undertake an annual parental survey in December each year to gauge the views of parents with children at St Columba.
We are pleased this year that 100% of parents agree or strongly agree that the regular newsletters and school website give them the information they need about the Academy - up 3% from 2015. Improving our communication with parents was a major focus of 2016 and it is great to see that our parents agree that this is so much better. Thank you.
Here are some of the many positive comments we have received over the past two years:
"I moved both of my children to this school 5 months ago and its the best thing I've done for them. My daughter has finally improved in all her reading and writing. I'm very happy with the school; no complaints at all."
"The school is going from strength to strength, my child's progress is outstanding. I love the smaller class feel for my child's education. Outstanding school."
"I continue to be highly impressed by the standard of teaching and the Academy's ethos. Staff do an amazing job. Very pleased that we chose St Columba. Our son has flourished in his first term."
"My daughter has come on leaps and bounds making me so proud. Thank you for your hard work in making this happen."
"It is great to see the encouragement and development within our children. Very impressed with the integration and community feel."
"Both of my children have been in the ARP. They have really progressed and gone on to receive the help they needed. All the staff have been brilliant and I would definitely recommend this school."
"I have found staff very supportive of all aspects regarding school and home situations. A really wonderful team of teachers and staff."

We are delighted that the results continue to improve with some statements now achieving 100% satisfaction. It is disappointing that some parents disagree with the statement that the Academy deals with any cases of bullying effectively as we believe that we do have a zero tolerance policy to bullying and a clear open door approach. We always listen to children when they are having issues in school whether these are friendship issues or examples of bullying. All incidents are investigated and we would urge you to contact us if your child is having issues. Please do bear in mind that we can’t deal with issues if we are unaware of them.
