Mr Vickery (or Mr V!) teaches Piranha Class with help from Mrs Scott. Mrs Main-Miller and Mrs Laggan cover Mr Vickery Monday afternoons.
Piranha's P.E. lessons are Mondays and Wednesdays. Please ensure your child is suitably dressed for these lessons - house colour top, black shorts, plimsolls or trainers. A sports sweatshirt / tracksuit is highly recommended during the colder months.......and please remember, ear studs must be removed or taped and shoulder-length hair tied up.
English and Maths home learning is sent home every Friday and due back the following Wednesday. New spellings are sent home every Friday followed by spelling tests the following Friday (please ensure your child brings in their yellow home spelling book!).
The importance of regular reading has been clearly explained to your child so please encourage them to do so. The ability to read and understand any text well has a significant influence on their writing and speaking abilities.
Here are the spellings for week commencing Friday 8th July:

Imagine that a member of your family is coming round for tea and you have been asked to make a cheese and pickle sandwich and a cup of tea for them. Write out the instructions for one or the other on how to make it.
Remember: chronological order; numbers or bullet points; ‘bossy words’ (put; take; pour; stir etc); time connectives (first; after; finally; next etc).
Please answer the following problems showing a clear method. Please present your work just as you would in your school maths books.
Summer 1 Learning Topic - Saving The World.
Over the next few weeks, Piranhas will be investigating where the rainforests are around the world, animals that live in rainforests and the effects man has on these areas. Check out the photo slide show of the Portsmouth Reptile and Amphibian Society visit:
Spring 2 Learning Topic - Gateway to the World.
The children made a great start to their new topic, 'Gateways to the World', by 'checking in', 'going through security' and boarding St Columba Airlines for Shanghai, China! All the children enjoyed a morning of dragon mask making, writing their name in Chinese, trying out Chinese food, researching facts about China and trying out chopsticks!
