Hot meals are cooked on site at St Columba by our school cook and her assistant who are employed by Hampshire County Council's Catering Service (HC3S).
Children in Year R, Year One and Year Two are entitled to universal free school meals - each child is entitled to a hot, two course meal at their school which will include a meat or non-meat main item, vegetables, potato, pasta or rice, salad and a dessert. Older children many be eligible for free school meals or may need to pay if they want a school dinner. Eligibility for free school meals can be checked at the school office.
Dinners are very reasonably priced at £2.15 per day. We prefer payments to be made in advance at the beginning of the week either directly to the office or via your child. If your child is bringing in money, please ensure that it is in an envelope clearly labelled with the amount enclosed and the days that lunches are required. You can now pay online via the following link www.schoolmoney.co.uk If you need any help with this please contact the school office who will be pleased to help.
HC3S operate a nut free menu and can accommodate children with allergies.

PICNIC BOX TRIAL
In addition to the changes to the school dinner menu, we are also offering ALL children the option of having a lunchtime picnic box from the school kitchen.
The cost of the picnic box is the same as a hot school dinner as it is £2.15 per day. Picnic boxes can be provided to children who are free school meals or children in Year R, Year 1 and Year 2 who want them instead of a hot dinner. They can also be ordered by children who would prefer a packed lunch to a hot school dinner. The picnic boxes are prepared fresh each day however children do need to be aware that the sandwich choices can’t be altered and are as follows:
Monday - tuna mayo and sweet corn sandwich with a muffin
Thursday - ham and lettuce sandwich with a cookie
