We had a really lovely day at Portchester Castle. We climbed to the top of the Keep and some of us went to the very top! After lunch we went to a workshop to learn about life at the castle in the past.
We are now learning about castles and the Easter home learning was to draw or make a castle. Well done Tiger class you have been very creative!
Today in maths we have been looking at the addition sign + and the subtraction sign - We had number sentences and had to work out which sign we needed to use to make the number sentence correct. We worked on some together on the carpet and then went to our tables to use apparatus to help us find which operation we needed to use. We then had number sentences to solve and used practical resources and number lines to help us.
Zootropolis Stay and Make
Year One and Year Two had a lovely Stay and Make session in the hall. We had two fun animal tasks to complete. Our first job was to decorate strips of paper, then cut them out and stick them into paper chains to make a snake. The second job was to decorate a tiger, cut it out and then use split pins to make the tiger move! Thank you to all the grown ups who were able to come and help.
We have had a lovely trip to Marwell Zoo. We have seen lots of animals and some Lego animals! We had lunch and then went to a workshop where we learnt about different habitats and the animals which live in them.
After lunch we went to the Tropical house before heading back on the coach. Lots of children were asleep on the coach after our amazing adventure!
These are our new sounds this week in phonics. We have been busy learning them and reading and writing words with our new sounds in.
