Take a look below at some of the children's learning so far this year. The following photos are examples of their home learning based on their topic, 'Divorced, Beheaded, Died' followed by some of the Harvest poems written and read out by the children at our Harvest Festival at St. Columba Church.
What a successful hook in to the children's new topic, Divorced, Beheaded, Died! They became detectives for the morning and had to solve a grizzly crime - who was the unfortunate victim? who was responsible for their death? why were they executed? A number of clues were left at the crime scene to help the children solve the mystery. Check out the photos below:
Breaking News! Congratulations to Alfie Cole and Teegan-Lee Holdaway who have been voted by their peers to represent them as their School Councillors for this Academic Year.
Well! What an amazing day visiting the Mary Rose Museum! The children became scientists for the day, learning about the properties of different materials and finding out which ones were available in Tudor times. They also met the Conservationist Manager who shared with them the remarkable work the Mary Rose Trust do to preserve 19 000 items discovered in the wreck of the Mary Rose. Finally, the children were in awe of the wreck itself and the world-leading, state-of-the art museum with all its incredible artefacts. Take a look at the Year 6 slide show:
